One of EVA's biggest and most difficult campaigns was the "undercover" action called "Be the Godfather", where members of our organization rescued 33 chinchillas (Chinchilla laginera) directly from one of the fur farms in June 2021.  in the city of Visoko. The farm was about to be shut down and the animals were being sold online, so EVA, together with the partners "Fur Free Alliance" movement, bought it, and started a project with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Sarajevo. The animals were then transported to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, where several stages followed. First, the adaptation period began, then, in consultation with experts from the field of veterinary medicine, only male animals were subjected to castration, because the sterilization process was significantly more risky for female animals. This was followed by the adoption phase, where we carried out a complete check for  all interested adopters with the obligatory signing of a contract with all the necessary conditions of keeping and legal acts.

In the end, all of our lovely chinchillas were adopted, individually or in pairs. Our project was a successful one, completed after less than six months, at the beginning of November 2021. The campaign was promoted by numerous billboards in the city of Sarajevo as well as on our social platforms.

Unfortunately, we are aware that this battle for the abolition of the dark and extremely inhumane and unnecessary practice of raising animals on fur farms in the territory of BiH is nowhere near the end, and that there is many more fur farms out there, that continue to ILLEGALLY carry out bloodshed while the government institutions turn blind. We know our fight will be long and hard but we are also ready to continue until every animal gets what it was given by nature: freedom.
