LIFE OF HENS ON INDUSTRIAL FARMS
When you walk past the shelf with eggs in the grocery store, they feature pictures of happy birds with shiny feathers, and phrases such as "cage-free" and "free-range" are written all over the place. Unfortunately, this advertisement does not represent the real life of a laying hen in the egg industry.
Instead, the industry mostly consists of massive halls barns filled with batery cages where hens are cramped and often featherless due to lack of space. This is a sad reality that the industry doesn't want consumers to see since these images make people buy much less. The profits of these companies depend on distracting customers from the truth about the lives of these beautiful birds.
